Pupil Premium

​The Government believes that the Pupil Premium is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between disadvantaged students and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the students who need it most and that they achieve and attain in line with their peers.

​The grant was introduced in 2011 and is allocated to schools based on the number of students on roll who are registered for free school meals, have been registered for free school meals within the last 6 years, or are children of service personnel.

An enhanced Pupil Premium Plus was introduced in April 2014 for Looked After Children, children adopted from care and children who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order.

​Some of the support and resources funded by the pupil premium also benefits children who may not necessarily be eligible for the premium but have been identified by the school as being at a disadvantage compared to their peers.

The amount allocated to AHS in 2019 was £2300, and was used to fund:

  • Full staff attachment training from PAC-UK
  • Ongoing and targeted student specific training and support for staff and parents
  • Attachment resources

School Inspections

Abingdon House School is inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate and CReSTeD – the Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Pupils.
